through May 15, 2011
LZ Project Space is pleased to present Open Doors, a solo exhibition featuring brand new paintings from fast-rising American contemporary painter Emrie Brooke Foster (E.B.F.), as well as the first showing of her new book "Me and My Good Girl 2" and a sneak peek at the trailer for her upcoming documentary "Art in The Streets".
Born in Columbus (Georgia), Emrie Brooke Foster, a self-taught artist but also at one time a student of renowned Spanish painter, Santiago Carbonell, has been painting for over twenty years.
“Art is not necessarily about how it looks,” says Emrie, “Art is about how it makes you feel. So open your door and let me and Good Girl take you for a ride...”
Emrie has been honored by the Famous Guild Hall Museum in East Hampton (Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, and Willem de Kooning, among other famous luminaries, have shown at Guild Hall) for her piece, “Hampton Fairy,” which was judged by Carolyn Lanchner, Curator Emeritus for the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
Open Doors at LZ Project Space NY Studio Gallery on the Lower East Side is the artist’s second solo exhibition in New York.
